My recent work reflects on the role of architecture in manipulating perception; it is a consideration of how exterior spaces act as carriers of information, influencing how we experience and respond to the world around us.
In my ‘Clamped’ series of works, laser cut Perspex shapes, found detritus and discarded packaging are held together in temporary layers, echoing the movement of light as well as time passing. The different textures, colours and scale form a recollection of a moment glimpsed in the urban environment. Here the shadow is peeled off the surfaces it inhabits and forms a shroud at the base of the sculpture.
