Laser cut and screen printed birch ply, prototype board, perspex and concrete. Modular, interchangeable arrangements, site specific pieces, 2020.

During my MFA I explored the exterior spaces of a 1960's tower block in the middle of the Oxfordshire countryside, belonging to Oxford Brookes University. With camera and pen, the effects of changing light altering the surfaces around the base of the tower were recorded. I find the merging of line and shadow, the point where clarity is lost intriguing. Questions arise around what is hidden or concealed within these disparate spaces. I am fascinated in how the atmosphere affects us?

These sculptural forms are conversations between materiality, colour and light. Research into the prefabricated and modular building systems which came into use during the 1940’s and 50’s as post-war Britain was rebuilt, have influenced their development.
